Hungary Essential Information

Hungary 2018

The big announcement has been made, we are going to Hungary in 2018. Here’s all you need to know about the greatest Explorer Scout Unit’s next international adventure…

Where?

We will be taking our Explorers on a 15-day trip with the first 10 days of our expedition spent in a large rented house on the Danube Bend.

Following this, we will be having a 5-day city break in Budapest.

What Will We Do?

Each of the 15 days spent in Hungary will be packed with fun and exciting activities just some of which are: Water Parks, Jetskiing, Caving, Canoe Cruise Paintballing, High Ropes, Escape Rooms, Team Challenges, Climbing, Exploration and Culture Trips. During our trip, we will also be furthering International Scouting bonds by meeting with Hungarian Explorer groups. We will also be asking our explorers to help choose further activities (more information to follow on this.)

Who’s In Charge?

The K2 Leadership team are planning and delivering this once in a lifetime trip exclusively for K2 Members first. With every member of the Team having extensive Scouting, International & Fundraising experience and knowledge, with no less than 5 Leaders attending the World Scout Jamboree in 2015. Butch was at the head of a fantastic fundraising campaign with £77,000 raised to contribute to our trip to Japan.

Cost & Administration

The total cost of the trip including flights, accommodation, food and activities is £850, with a £250 deposit due by the 18th September, leaving plenty of time for consideration, however, we will be dealing with bookings on a first come first served basis. Those who decide to come on the expedition will be required to attend a Pre-Camp on 14th-16th April 2018 to prepare for the trip (attendance is compulsory).

We shall also insist in order for the Explorers to get the most out of the trip and allow us to really pack our schedule, that mandatory fundraising is undertaken to support our activity budget. The more we raise as a group the more we can do together as a group. We do encourage individual fundraising in order to help subsidize the cost of the trip as well.

Questions?

If you have any questions or would like to know more about particulars, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of the leadership team or drop us an email to k2esu.wxm@gmail.com, or alternatively, give our Explorer Scout Leader John Houghton a call on 07912 539146.
