About Us

K2 ESU is the biggest Explorer Scout Unit in Wrexham. We provide our teenage members with a different adventure every Monday night, top quality weekends away, access to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, and amazing trips abroad.

Explorer Scouting is the fourth Section of the Scouts open to young men and women aged 14 to 18. K2 caters for Explorers from all across Wrexham,  but we don’t really care where you come from as long as you’re willing to get here every Monday night!

We have a Partnership Agreement with 1st Rhosnessney Scout Group, meeting in their hut on Dean Road every Monday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, you can find out how to get to us on the map below.

We create our own packed programme of various activities and our members are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, and work for the Chief Scout’s Platinum, Diamond and the Queen’s Scout Awards.

Getting out and about is a big part of K2, we try and hold as much of our programme outdoors as possible, go camping at the very least once every three months and offer members several opportunities to travel abroad.

The Unit is named after K2, the second highest mountain in the world. It may be not quite as tall as Everest, but it’s a lot harder to climb! Find out all about our namesake on Wikipedia.
